FAQS

Is MyRounding available in a web app?

Yes. We offer the MyRounding application as an app on the iPad as well as through most internet browsers.

What types of rounds can I do?

Our clients use MyRounding for many different types of rounds. While leadership, nursing and staff rounds are most common we see clients creating custom interviews for core measures, IT, engineering, Joint Commission and more. Some clients have found they are able to eliminate other survey and compliance tools and bring everything under the umbrella of MyRounding.

Do we need an iPad or mobile device for every single user?

No. The MyRounding application is HIPAA compliant which requires us to authenticate users at the application level rather than the device. This means that you do NOT have to have a device for every single person who is doing rounding. For example, you could provision devices by department, floor or clinical area. The use case is, it’s time to do my rounds so I go to the ED and log in to the iPad for that department. I complete my interviews and set the device down on my way out. The next person logs in, using the exact same device, and completes their rounds.

Is it HIPAA compliant?

Yes. The MyRounding solution is HIPAA compliant from the iPad application through transfer to our database and back out through our administrative reporting tool. As I’m sure you know, there is no single thing that makes our platform HIPAA compliant. It’s a combination of a lot of technologies. We would love to set up a call to give you more insight on the technologies we use for HIPAA compliance and answer your questions.

Where is our information stored?

Your data is encrypted and stored on our servers that reside in the cloud. We use AWS (Amazon Web Services), so we’re able to leverage their compliance ensure that your data is secure.

Is there any limitation on the number of users we can have?

No. One of the biggest reasons our clients choose MyRounding is because they can have an unlimited number of users and unlimited downloads of the application.

How are the users added to the system?

Users are added through our web based Administrative Web Portal. We collect the first name, last name and email address of each user. You can select their visibility: admin, system, hospital or department. One of the reasons our clients choose MyRounding is because they can manage this information on their own, you do not have to come to us each time you want to add, edit or remove a user.

How do users log in to the system?

Your end users will log in using their hospital email address and a password that they create. The password must be a minimum of 8 characters and include one capital letter, one lower case letter and a number.

Can this be automated with integration to our Employee Management/Exchange/other system?

Not yet. Today this is done manually. However we are developing the interface that will enable this process to be automated. We have a restFUL API that enables communication from our platform to third party systems you already use. To be clear, our current solution is absolutely turn key and can be provisioned in a matter of hours with little or no involvement from your IT department. Integration through our API will require development and IT resources from your organization.

Is it possible to integrate with our EMR/EHR/ERP/other system?

Yes, this is possible through our restFUL API  (Application Programmable Interface). The API enables communication to our database from any third party software – so long as they allow third party communication.  Information can be securely transferred to your EMR/EHR/ERP software. To be clear, our current solution is 100% turn key and can be provisioned in a matter of hours with little or no involvement from your IT department. Integration through our API will require development and IT resources from your organization.

What happens if I lose WiFi connectivity in a round?
You will be able to continue your round without interruption. As soon as you regain WiFi connectivity the information you’ve collected will be dynamically uploaded to our database.

Do I need to be connected to WiFi to log in to the application?

Yes. Because MyRounding is HIPAA compliant we are required to authenticate users at the application level. This means we need the ability to communicate to our database to validate username and password info. Once you are authenticated you are free to move in and our of WiFi zones without worrying about losing data or having your round interrupted.

Is there a limitation on the number of downloads for our hospital/system?

No. One of the biggest reasons that our clients’ choose MyRounding is because they receive unlimited application downloads. Because we identify users at the application level, rather than the device level, you can log in to the application from any device using your unique email address and password.

Can we create our own questions?

Absolutely! In addition to our iPad application we have a web based Administrative Portal that gives you complete control of your application, visibility to system wide reports and provisioning. From the Administrative Portal you are able to create any type of round your need – leadership, nursing, core measures, ask your own questions for each of those interviews and collect responses through Yes/No – Scale – and Free Text Field questions.

How often can we update, make changes, to our questions?

You can make changes as often as you like and you can make as many changes as you need. There are no additional expenses, making changes does not require additional resources and your changes can take effect immediately. When you make a change it will dynamically propagate to your end users.

When we do make changes, how long will it take for our users to see the update?

There are no additional expenses, making changes does not require additional resources and your changes can take effect immediately. When you make a change it will dynamically propagate to your end users.

Can I assign visibility by hospital, department, user?

Yes. Our hierarchy has 4 levels. System, Hospital, Department and End User. You can provision any user at any level. As an administrator you will always have visibility to the entire system.

How is MyRounding different from other rounding solutions?

One big reason our clients chose MyRounding is because of their ability to create and edit questions on their own. When you want to make a change to your application you do not need to contact us, it does not require additional money or resources. You can make changes in line, on your own, that will dynamically propagate to your end users. It is a quick, easy and seamless process.

In addition to our seamless configurability, another big difference is your ability to grant, or limit, visibility by user. Our hierarchy is comprised of four levels: System, Hospital, Department and User level. This is advantageous for a couple of reasons. First, you’re going to have a lot of data. Regardless of whether a person should or should not have visibility to different data sets it could easily become overwhelming for your end users to search and sort while looking for information relevant to them. Second, without the ability to limit visibility you increase the odds of someone being exposed to information that they should not have otherwise been able to see.

Finally, we do not have any set up fees and implementation of our application does not require resources from your IT/IS department. Implementation of the MyRounding solution is measured in hours or days, not weeks and months. Likewise, ongoing maintenance and management is simple and does not require additional resources or expenses.

How much does it cost?

Our pricing is based on your average daily-staffed bed count and includes unlimited: users, application downloads, customization and rounds/interviews.
